Past, Present and Future - Fate. It’s all there knitted into place.
Fated is a new puppet and visual theatre show in development. Written by Tilly Lunken and directed by William Aubrey Jones it is an exciting and innovative project that will explore new ways of how we tell stories and make sense of the world. Produced by Kaya Stanely-Money and with puppets designed and built by Beth Crane we are collecting a great creative team together for the project.
In a world of wool that sits just outside ours, three women knit and unravel the stories in all our lives. Between them these Fates – Past, Present and Future – know everything that has happened, what will happen and what is happening. Eternity has twisted them into grotesque beings perfectly adapted to their endless task. The wool is spun out; it is knitted and then unravelled and stored. So, it is set, so it is written, so it is done.
That is until the wool changes.
In the time since they were revered has Gods, Man has become clever, tricky and without fear. He once again rises against Fate to seize control of his destiny.
Together they must face an uncertain future without the comfort of prophecy and only the remnants of ancient myths for guidance. It really isn’t easy fighting progress when you are three thousand years old and can’t find your glasses.
A scratch performance of Fated. is being performed at the Little Angel Theatre as part of HATCH Festival and at the Norwich Puppet Theatre as part of their development Platform.
